THE PLACE OF A MENTOR
Anyone who is a son of God (Male & female) is mentored by the Spirit, mentored by God. As many that are led by the SPIRIT, they are the sons of God. The Holy Ghost is our guide, help and mentor! but yet God still instituted human mentorship. The Spirit HIMSELF leads us to a particular person to be mentored, your Spirit must align with the mentor before submission for mentorship. God knows why He instituted the importance of mentorship. How comes someone will resolve to the mentality that he only wants to be mentored by God! 🧐
There are physical attributes and contact a mentee needs from a mentor hence the need for a physical mentor. This physical relationship has to be in place, one enjoy physical communication, conversing and confiding, airing views, challenges and weaknesses and the mentor in turn gives advice, Prayer, guide, help etc. The fellow I spoke about couldn't survive without a mentor, that's why he ALWAYS was coming to see my Dad.
Mentors play vital roles in the lives of their mentee and anyone lacking a mentor cannot enjoy these. I remembered some months back I got some scary prophecies and I was devastated. First my friend Olivia told me she had a dream about one of us among our circle of friends. So I asked what the dream was all about and she told me she saw that one of us died. But they're all praying about it. I went for Fellowship at TAN, when I came back my dad told me what one if his Spiritual daughter told him some hours ago while PRAYING (she's a prophetess). she saw I died but they prayed over it but I also should pray, I replied "okay sir". I quoted some scriptures and slept off. In the middle of the night I felt my younger sister's hand grabbing me fearfully on the bed, after that she prayed in the Holy Ghost, morning time she told me that she dreamt that I died. It was so clear that when she woke up, she thought it was reality so she had to reach out to me to know if am alive. She prayed already, I should also pray.
I smiled and told her to be prayerful and not to WORRY. AFTER some minutes I heard a knock on the door and behold it was kindness and Aaron (they're part of my circle of friends with Olivia). After conversing for some while, they asked if Olivia told me anything. I told replied "Yes but I wasn't cleared on what she said". They told me to confirm from her, they're not going to say anything. They asked if I had any strange experience or dreams, I couldn't give them a proper answer. They promised they'll be praying for me and left. I chatted Olivia and asked who she saw died in the dream? she told me "you ma" and she narrated what she saw. I smiled and told her not to worry, nothing will happen. We all should be prayerful.
At this point I was completely scared! so I reached out to my Mentor and Spiritual father. I told him all I experienced the past days and I will just resolve to praying. I was sad and moody. Even as I layed to pray, tears were already running down my eyes. Minutes later, I heard a knock on the gate. My younger sister rushed to open the gate and behold my mentor was at my house! so she quickly called me. I never expected the visitation. I rushed out in surprise. He told me He couldn't just give me a reply over the phone! he has to come down to the house. He said he'll just read few scriptures and we're done. Colossians 3:3 KJV:For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. I read and began to laugh. He then told me whenever you receive messages like this PRACTICALISE this scripture do not withdraw to fear! in fact, if you have money at that moment visit any eatery, relax and enjoy and laugh at the devil. Tell him your life is hidden in Christ, CHRIST in God. Just few minutes of visitation my soul was lifted! We walked to His car outside the gate and he asked me to open to Galatians 2:20 KJV:I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Actually this scripture has been like a song in my mouth. I always quote it but at that point I totally forgot. so I ignorantly opened the scripture. I began to read then I paused.... He asked me to continue and I couldn't... He understood that the scripture was already part and parcel of me but when faced with a challenge I couldn't even remember.... He left me smilling and joyful.
Imagine if I don't have a mentor, what do you think would happen to me??? Every man needs a physical mentor, someone to guide him through so he will not fall.
Another important area to note is mentoring relationships! There are two types of mentors according to Cindy Jacobs : Mentors for a life time and mentors for a season of one's life. You need to understand this. Naomi and Ruth had a life time mentoring relationship. There are some people that come into one's life at a particular period or season, they come to help one through at that moment, you may find out after that season the relationship might not be cordial again. You need to discern when you see one and cherish that moment.
I had as secondary school teacher who really helped me through secondary school, but after graduation we couldn't connect anymore. She came into my life in a specific season and blessed me. My present mentor is a life time mentoring relationship. Mentors play significant roles. IT TAKES UNDERSTANDING TO KNOW THEIR PLACE.
